Why go Organic? The benefits of Organic Food
For starters, organic certification varies depending where you are in the world. For us here in Australia and New Zealand, it means our products are grown and processed without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilisers, or GMO's. We must pass rigorous certification checks to maintain a high level of customer trust in our products and processes.
Organic food contains fewer pesticides that you will find in conventional agricultural practices. The residue from regular farming practices can remain on (and in) the food we eat. By choosing organic foods you are choosing the most natural and beneficial foods for your body. And remember, it is important to take care of your body from the inside out!
Not only is organic farming good for you, but it is better for the environment, too. I believe they call this a win-win! So, how are organic farming practices better for the environment?
Organic farming practices may reduce pollution, as well as conserving water, reducing soil erosion, increasing soil fertility, and using less energy. Farming without synthetic pesticides is also better for the birds and animals that live close to the farm, as there are no nasties floating about in the air.
